Damn... Got me a brand new Putnam XDR hitch sitting here and no way to make it fit. I have dual exhaust (Magnaflow) and both back braces on the hitch hit my exhaust. There is not enough room to move my exhaust... and I would have to cut off both rearmost (frontmost?) mounts to make it fit.

Anyone have a problem like this before?

I live 45 minutes away from Putnam Hitches... I called them and they agreed that they should get together with other aftermarket companies to make sure everything works together better.
They build a hitch to work with stock exhaust and the exhaust people make an exhaust to work with the stock hitch. :(

I laughed and said I got the test mule for you to get the ball rolling. :D Unfortunately, they would not be able to look at it until winter.. maybe not even then.

I want this stock hitch off my truck before it bends or worse

Yes! I just installed mine today and not only did my banks single exhaust hit the back brace, but my spare tire dont fit either. Well thats because i have a mag-hytec rear diff cover. Im trying to find a hitch where i can still use my mag-hytec and keep my spare. Anyways good luck

Good thread. Yeah I am also interested in how to mount my spare and what exhaust upgrade to look into. Thanks.

Mine fit when I had a single 4 inch magnaflow, stock spare fit as well.

I think I'm going to make a custom hitch... don't see any other way around it

On my '02 2500HD, I have the Drawtite Ultraframe IV hitch and it fits with 4" Magnaflow.

My stock sized spare also fits even with my MagHytek diff. cover.
