How much does It cost to upgrade a Allison, some say it can cost up to 5 grand for a full rebuild. ATS? Suncosts? any suggestions:D

I'd look in the Allison section. Be prepared for a lot of reading. It's not an easy answer. I recommend doing some research before making a decision. Good luck.

I've been leaning to the Suncoast III or IV possibly with a Co-pilot. ATS has some nice upgrades also. At this point I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

lakingslayer said it right, your not going wrong with either one.

A few quotes, may vary slightly, but close

SC III installed 3500
SC IV installed 4200
SC V installed 5300 ( complete unit)
ATS Full w/c4 and co pilot installed 5400
ATS complete unit w/ co pilot installed 6000 ( complete unit)

I figured freight into these quotes, just rough quotes, but gives you an idea....

is the co-pilot alone worth it?

I did a lot of reading, research and question asking before making my decision yesterday. Was it the right decision? Ask me in 2 years :) I ordered the SC V ...my price tag will be right at 5500 which includes R/R, fluids and the deep pan option. Shipping alone is the killer on the tranny swap options ...about 250-300 each way ...but no getting around it. However with that shipping for the SC 5 you get the 2 year warranty on the tranny and 3 year on converter whereas with the SC 4 kit you have to have it installed by your installer and there is no warranty unless the installer offers one. SC won't warranty the kit.

I was contemplating buying a UPS jet and shipping the trannies myself but after weighing the cost of the jet, price of jet fuel and considering I would only use the jet twice I decided against it. :)

I couldn't have made my decision without all the expert advice/knowledge on this forum. I can't thank the guys enough ... well maybe after I get the tranny installed and a TTS Extreme :) as long as it's before my credit card statement arrives.

Good luck.

Bottom line is you won't gain a whole lot by doing this.
