: How difficult is it to R&R an LB7?

The repair costs for my engine are going through the roof. So now I'm considering just finding a wrecker engine and throwing that in for now.

How technically difficult and time consuming is it to do a swap on an LB7, assuming two fairly competent  wrench turners, but both are LB7 virgins...

Besides the basic tools, what else would be required?

I'd get the Helm manuals - I understand those are the ones to get.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Here's my original thread on the problems I was having:

Apparently now they've discovered that four of the injectors are stuck/burned in the sleeves and are not removable, so must be replaced. So I said "STOP EVERYTHING" - and it's time to contemplate a plan B.

If your engine turns, I would say about 4 hours for first timers without a tech manual. A little faster with. Get the manual first imo. If engine does not turn, you gotta get the tranny back aways to get engine out. Go get a fuel line removal tool and your ready to go.
