I think I screwed up here guys. I just installed my Autometer EGT and Boost gauge. The gauges I got from TXFiremedic if I remember right but it was an older style gauge (I think) that has a little black box for the EGT. The box says for use with a "K" style thermo but also said on the package I would have to buy my own. Because the thermo didn't come with it and the fact that I didn't want to pay Autometer $150 for their "K" probe I bought one from Kennedy Diesel that is used for the ISSpro gauges ('K" style probe)
Now this should have worked according to the posts I've read about swapping probes and gauges and stuff. Well it didn't, the gauge pegged at 600 and won't come down. I did have to cut the ends of the lead wire off to connect it to the box and I think that is where I messed up. Are the two ring connectors considered as part of the whole resistance of the probe? If so then I guess a new lead wire will have to be ordered. Or could my not so good power source have an effect on the whole equation? The needle kinda quivers under acceleration but other than that it just stays at around 600 degrees. What did I do?:(
