Just returned from towing doubles ( 29 foot 5th wheel and 17.5 foot boat) on a 1000 mile fishing trip. Total weight 12,500lbs. With only 2500 miles on my truck I was pleasently surprised to get 11.7mpg towing. I was towing at 63-65 mph.
I can't believe how much power this LMM has and I just love the Allison transmission with the tow haul mode. Everything worked great including the IBC. My boat has surge brakes therefore I do not need a brake controller for it.
We will be heading out to Yellowstone and parts west in August, can't wait.

Yea you bet I do. I can back it up for a short distance but not brave enough to try backing down the boat landing.

When towing doubles you really need to refuel at large truck stops so that you don't get in a place too small to turn around in. Od course this applies to towing any large trailer.
I Dont try backing into the driveway either!
