Hey guys i am having a tough time with this truck. I just recently replaced the starter. and was worlking fine until one day my truck was dead. I tested the battery and was getting 12 v so I tried replacing the alternator and nothing. I tried jumping and nothing. I then replaced the batteries just to try it out. It started yeaaaa....I then went out the other monrning to go to work and it wouldnt start again.....It clicks but does not turn over.......any suggestions????

intake mounted PMD is not good first of all. its a worse mounting spot than the pump mount. mounting the PMD anywheres in the engine bay is not good for it.

anyways did you replace both batteries? the batteries should be a matched set. a bad battery will kill a good battery quickly. i had a battery go bad and kill the other one overnight. they went from 770 CCA to 60 and 68 cca overnight and the truck's starter just clicked.

If it clicks but doesn't turn over, it means the starter is either bad or there just isn't enough juice to crank. Probably a bad connection.

I had this with mine a week ago, it turned out that the main battery terminal bolt bottomed out in the battery prior to making a firm connection. SO I tightened the bolt, but the cables were still loose to a degree. I added a washer, now everything is beautiful, wonderful, spinning furiously, starting like it should.

Sounds like a battery issue to me also. Make sure you have both batteries put on a load tester. A bad cell in a battery will allow it to hold a surface charge and look like a good battery. The moment a load is put on it though it drops to almost nothing.

Before this though check your battery terminals. Corosion on the terminals will create the same effects if it's building up and not allowing a good connection.

Good luck...

I have had a similar problem, the cable to the battery was so corroded the starter would not get enough juice to start.

i have replaced both batteries but what i am thinking is about a month ago i got my truck back from my local tech school...they replaced my IP for me.....the sound that buzzes when the glow plug light is on was buzzing and would not go off even when the light turned off....I checked the doors to see if those buttons were on and they were all the way in.....I searched for the voice box and pulled it but now i am thinking that something is draining my battery now.....if i pull the fuse that powers that voice box will that solve the problem???
