I went to move the trailer yesterday and the batteries were dead. Long story short, the 12v power at the 7 way socket is dead. Is there a fuse that needs installed? Already did a search, but no dice.....

Yes, look underhood fuse box. one empty slot, just can't remember what it says. Read all the listing for what each fuse does. I am looking in GM SI...

IIRC, it's a 40 amp fuse that gets installed.

If you had the HD trailering pkg, you should have had a fuse taped up with the wiring harness for the brake controller. It goes in "post 1" in the under hood electrical center and I do believe it is 40amp as stated above, but not totally sure. If that still doesn't send power to the 7-way blade for 12v power, they may not have connected the wire in the harness under the hood.

There is a post(s) for this in towing or electrical, can't find it just now. Good luck

If this is for the '08, then there is a wire in the engine compartment that needs to be connected. Look beside and slightly underneath the drivers side battery - red wire taped up. Connect it to the extra positive lead on the battery - this will power up your trailer charging system.

All I find is a wire that says aftermarket 12v trailer power feed, hooked it up and still no power to trailer batteries....

Look down towards the bottom of this link. It will tell you what to do:

Is this on your wife's 08? If so, I can't be of much help. If it is the 05 and you have the fuse in and the trailer brake harness wired in correctly, then you must have a short between the front elec center(s) and the 7-way plug at rear bumper?

Wish I could be more help and good luck

Keep looking. There are two wires there that are the same(red w/blk) and the other one is the one you need.:)

Thanks for the input guys. I have been real busy at work so havent had time to check for the other wire, but will do asap. :) Also, it is for the 08, the 05 was a piece of cake, just hooked a fuse into box, like link says. However, the 08 is different I believe (fuse block looked different then 05)
