for those that tow more than 8000lbs, do you leave your truck on the tow setting all the time even when not towing? i have been running the 65 setting when not towing, but i tow a 10000lb 5th wheel about once a month and am wondering if i should change back and fourth between 40 and 65 for towing and not towing? does it hurt the truck or tranny to have to relearn the different tunes every time i change the setting so that i can tow without frying the trans?

what do you think??

I've towed in both settings and saw no difference. I think you're safe as long as you don't go to a higher setting.

I pull around 9k on average. This spring got a Predator 2.02. I have used the Tow tune on most of my trips. I have used the 65hp tune for a short trip recently with no issues. I plan to keep this tune for my next trip to Dallas mid July. We'll see how it goes.

I tow the 5th wheel in my sig on the 40hp tune, and daily drive on the 120hp tune. Get guages, as the Predator runs hot when towing.

X2! I agree with ya Tutts. I usually ran my predator on 120 for daily driving, but I could climb the EGT's right up to 1400-1500 if I wanted to. When pulling, I backed it off to the 40 or 60 hp tune. U should be fine, just keep an eye on EGT's.

I tow with Preator on 45 setting and RPM'S run 1700-1800 at 60mpg. On flat ground, I can quickly disengauge my tow/haul feature and my RPM'S will drop to 1500, then re-engauge it and you can watch the mpg on the DIC start climbing and the motor quiet down. Has anyone tried this out?
