Looking for guys who've replaced another 4" or 5" flo thru muff with the hushpower and what are your thoughts. Might be moving from mbrp to hushpower but no local vendors so I'll have to order. Just finding the noise and drone around town at low speeds is too much. Would consider corsa but looks like I'd have to replace the whole system...$$. Highyway cruise is not bad since I added wieghts to the front pipe. Got some info from searches but looking for more.

Thanks,
Paul

my buddy has a hushpower on his CR Cummins. the truck had a little drone at highway speeds loaded, but significantly more now since he put on the hushpower muffler. he is running 5" aluminized exhaust though, which could be part of the problem.

i just switched from cheap aluminized to silverline ss, no drone, no rumble, i can actually talk on my phone doing 75 on the highway now. put same exhaust on a co-workers ps, sounds great, no drone. wont put anything else on my trucks now.

just my .02

hushpower muffler were designed to catch turbo parts for the sled pullers. so that they wouldnt have to use crossbolts.

as for power.. i am sure it flow alot better then the stocker. 4" is all you need power wise for anything unde 750rwhp.

the only reason to go bigger is exhaust note. IMO

BTW im running 3.5" on my truck still.

I've got one. I'm running the Silverline 4" 304SS with the Hushpower. I notcied it is a little quieter than the Silverline muffler but I took off the 5" tip and that got rid of the little drone that i had. It does not have a very noticeable drone but when I took off the tip it got quieter. Talk to Mark Broviak on here. he sells these as it's where I got mine. Had to do a little moddifying. The muffler was about 3" shorter than the Silverline muffler so he had to weld a little piece on to my exhaust to make it fit but it works good now!

X2, I got drug through the mud over it but still stand behind them 100%. They work great and sound better than a silverline or mbrp muffler if you are NOT after a LOUD exhaust system. They were design to take avantage of the wasted energy going out the exhaust and use it to help spool the charger faster, the catching broken turbo parts on their way out was just a side effect from their design. Was a great idea that got shot down by those who spoke before they thought, oh well.

I wish I'ld have had one a few months ago then....

i dont find my silverline loud at all. i'm sitting in the cab most of the time though.....

i hated my 5", hated 3.5 straight piped, love 4" silverline with the scoops in the muffler facing backwards.

I have the Silverline dual exit exhaust on my truck, I don't see where it's all that loud at all. I'm very pleased with it.

MBRP is telling me mine is loud because it's a catless lb7 and because it's a shortbox extended cab I have no clearance to put in their resonator. Missing the stock setup about now. Wonder if walker might have something?

The Corsa Muffler would fit where the MBRP one is.
Only one end of the Corsa is socketed so would need to add a socket to the other end (or the pipe).
They will sell muffler only for $395.
Do they eliminate all or most of drone as advertised??

aro turbine makes a nice quiet diesel muffler, i bought one for my father inlaw for his dodge and it was nice and qiuet with a deep tow in the lower rpms and not much louder than stock in the upper rpms , i got a 4" stainless for 170.00 off e-bay .

Aero turbine 4040xl was the other I was considering so thanks for that. Does your FILs truck have a cat or downpipe back setup?

I have one on my cummins with 5" exhaust. WAY quieter at idle, but has some drone at ~2000 rpm's. It's not for me though, I like LOUD!

I have the same setup on my crew cab and the noise is aweful. I posted recently asking the same question for how to quiet it down. It was suggested that I switch to Hushpower. MarkBroviak quoted me retail value. I can get it cheaper through Summit Racing. But without Mark here I probably wouldn't have gotten such good advice. I think it's good to support people in your community and this is a type of community.

One of the issues I am dealing with is that I can darn near buy an entire exhaust system for the cost of the muffler. Right now I'm in indecision what to do. I could add a resonator, change muffler, or swap out the entire system. My exhaust looks pretty good and will probably last several years.

I have an AERO setup on my '01 and no cats. I messed up when ordering and got the kit for the CCSB but a couple cuts/welds and had a 4" system dumpin out before the rear tire. Its got a great sound. probably a bit loud for some. But I had to slide the muffler under the cab and with the outlet that close... thats the nature. If it dumped out at the end it might be a little different.

I agree with supporting our vendors. How do I get a hold of Mark?
