Run a jumper wire from the auto sensor in the dash and ground it off.

how do i get to the sensor? i tried to get to it by going through behind the stereo but the sensor doesnt have enough wire to pull out and work on it.

You have to lift the whole dash. It takes about 4 or 5 minutes. Pull off the bezel around the gauge cluster and stereo. It pulls out and around the steering wheel. This exposes a few 10 mm screws. Pull out the louvers on the passenger side vents and this exposes 2 more. Under the fuse panel covers inside each front door, there are another, and then unclip the grab handle on the passenger side (done through the vent holes already exposed), and lift the dash out and up. Piece of cake.

I thought you just turned the know all the way to the left. I guess I haven't touched or looked at mine in quite some time.

Cut the white wire on the J3 connector and the black wire on the J4 connectore of your BCM...then jump them together!

....you should only have 1 black and 1 white on both connectors so you cant screw up! ITS THAT SIMPLE AND NO MORE BIG BROTHER HEADLIGHTS...:D

so basically, you want to drive around in a black truck on the roads in the dark and be an obsticale to other drivers? even at dusk it's ridiculous

No, I want to be able to shut-off my HID's on start up and leave them off while my truck is outside running without having to use the park brake everytime before I start it.

My Canada truck won't allow me to be stopped on the side fo the road with just my parking light on. Or turn my headlights off when the ferry workers are loading the boat at night. (they don't like the deer-in-the-headlights effect)

I just want to be able to switch from auto to manual control when I need it. I was hoping the black/white wire connection would do that for me with a switch in the jumper wire. However that is not the case in a Canada truck I guess???

Okay time out is over and you two guys can get back to peeing in each others Wheaties.

Ya.... so?

Its fun

First off, it is spelled obstacle. I have a green truck with the headlights disabled, not a black one, and you don't know the other poster has a black truck. Second, you don't have to reply to every thread about disabling auto headlights talking about how you think we are all stupid idiots, Canadian Laws and Auto Headlights are the greatest. If you can't see at dusk, even with your auto headlights, you should get off the road. It's our trucks, not yours and we don't need your approval to do mods. Plus have you ever heard of a thing called HID headlights? Auto headlights can cause them to fail way more premature. When I need to see what is in front of my truck while driving at night, I turn on my headlights. When I am idling or waiting on something and not driving, I turn them off. I live in Texas where we don't need the government to tell us when to have our lights on. I'm sure in a socialistic state like you probably live in, you need Obama to turn your lights on for you. More power to ya. Just don't be an ass about other people wanting to mod their trucks different then your opinions.
