At 70 MPH with 285's what RPM should I see? I hate these stock tires and want to know how much RPM it would drop if i run a 285/75. THANKS

I agree w/ the RPMs above, but I'd also like to add:
At 70mph, you'll get better mpg w/ the 285s vs stock. Unfortunately, I don't have hard numbers, but that's what I recall when I switched to 285s.

cool thanks guys, so about 100-150RPM difference between the two?

did you guys have to cut off any of the front air dam?

Yes I had to trim the air dam and a few other places. Make sure to crank the t-bars up about 4 turns and while your under there might as well put some tie rod sleeves on for some insurance...superdiesel makes a nice set of those.

I've read several times in the past, that when increasing tire size...it actually decreases fuel milage when pulling/trailering loads, say 10,000 to 15,000 lbs. Probably not an issue, however, unloaded. Whats you experience????????????, anybody. :)

I lost M.P.G as a result of biger tires 285. I have cranked the torsion bars and trimmed fairing and still rub a little while turning.

same on the rpm, but i didnt crank my t-bars at all. i did trim the lower plastic piece on the front bumber. welded up a piece of metal on the drives side to pull away the plastic wheel well liner to keep of the tire.

In stop & go city traffic you will loose MPGs because it takes more energy to get the bigger tires moving.

Towing, You will be working the engine harder as well, Also loosing MPGs

Out on the road, traveling at constant speed may bee a different story. You should get a little better mileage because your rpms are lower.

I didn't have to trim anything for my 285's, but did have them turn the T-bars up. The truck sits about 1" lower in the front than in the back, measuring from the center of the wheel wells. Different brand tires will be different sizes, regardless of the claimed size, keep this in mind.

The big ? is which rims are u going to run?
Stock w/ 285 and most have no problem(other than the left inner fender needs tied front and back ).
When going to wider or H2 wheels it pushes the tire out and causes it to hit the air dam.

That is what I am getting put on today.

In the past I ran Duelers M/T 285/75/16 and had my bars cranked up 8or 9 turns the front is 1/2 inch lower than the back. I have never had a scrubing problem with the Bridgestone 285s.
