I've got too much EGT's, like everyone else around here and need a cure to keep pulling. I know the stock turbo downpipe sucks and would love to replace it, but I haven't seen one anywhere. I have concidered water injection for awhile now. I have played with water/cropoil mixes on tractors and really killed egts fairly easily but none of the 1066's have computers or aluminum heads and the turbos all flow way more efficently than a cranked up d-max. I would like to fix the exhaust problem first as that only seems logical to me, but water sounds like an easy fix.

Has anybody seen aftermarket down pipes for these trucks?

Has anyone got a ready to install water system?

has anyone played with either before? Pro's/Con's?

DF, I'm gathering the same intel myself. Plenty of intel on the DP site.

fredw, I pulled the 5ver this past week up through SC and NE Georgia, weighed in around 16500-17000k lbs. Boost rarely went above 16psi so I'm wondering if WI is my best choice for now. A higher flowing exhaust would give me lower EGT's all the time, whereas the WI is only going to cycle when I hit 16psi or higher boost.

FWIW, my highest numbers were: TOWING - 1287* EGT; 17.6 psi boost; 41* outside temps; 65mph. NOT TOWING: 760* EGT; 8 psi boost; 61* outside temps; 70 mph.

I'm looking at the MBRP 4" SS, really would like the duals with SS tips. Mama JJ is going to :nutkick: . JJ ):h

this pipe you are talking about is actually the "front pipe", the turbo down pipe is the pipe that this front pipe connects to. the stock turbo down pipe is VERY restrictive because its in a very tight spot and as far as I know there is no one that makes an aftermarket one. its round at the bottom, but is pressed and flat on the way up to the turbo housing.

I just installed this front pipe as well, no complaints.

I kinda figured that pipe was the front piece of a complete exhaust system, I shot an e-mail off to mbrp anyhow to see if they knew where I could get one if they didn't make it.
