Hey guys... still lookin' for a truck and came across this one. The VIN is 1GCHK23181F157416. Is there any way to tell if the truck has an Allison transmission? He doesn't seem to know much about the truck, so I think it would be pointless to ask the seller. This is his description...

If it DOES have the Allison, and he knew it, I assume he would make it an obvious selling point. I suspect it is the "normal" transmission.

If it's a Duramax then yes I believe they all came with 1000 Series Allison's

chJust call him back and ask if its an automatic. If it is, then yes it does have the Allison transmission. If its a manual, then no, it has the 6 speed ZF transmission. Those are the only two options for the Duramax.

Thanks guys... you pretty much confirmed what I suspected. It IS an automatic and I figured the ZF was only the manuals.

or it could have the 700r4 that is one i looked at saw that option and then i was like no was went for one wilt the ally

Duramax = Allison or ZF 6-speed, no other options for this motor.

Moot point because he is WAY high on the price (higher than high retail on KBB and Nada), so that truck can stay on his lot.
