OK - 05 made it back from Mexico and Guatemala after two months and 15,000 miles with the only failure being not able to instantly repel Mexican Army from arresting me and seizing truck in Chiapas. Took 10 hours of standing in hot 100 degree sun and sitting in Army garrison before the Mexican Army found out they were complete asses and wrong. Sheesh.
Upon return to Bend, changed both fuel filters (Racor under and factory above) only to have fuel squirt out in the factory filter area. Reinstalled - same thing. AAA trucked it to dealer, found broken fuel line in back of filter and pin hole in new AC Delco black line filter. Dealer will warranty because I just bought a 2005 Sub there and working on order for 2006 or 2007 D/A, but said I must have broken line when installed filter. Used normal quality steel band Lisle like I always use (20+ yrs). Two weeks to get line!!!! Anybody else had a problem with breaking the line near the filter? Doesn't make sense to me. Sure glad it did not happen below the border!~!

Sorry to sidetrack this... but...

out of curiousity... just what the H&ll does one do for a living, or for recreation, that prompts you to drive to Guatemala and back?

Although - i have to admit - I'm a roadtrip fanatic.. and it does sound sort of fun..

If there are any other surfers on this site and would be interested in doing a similar trip all the way down to Costa Rica and Panama basically following the pacific coast line until the CR/Panama border let me know. Id seriously like to embark on this adventure. I know CR and some of Panama quite well and am fluent in spanish.
