I am new to this forum . I have an 86 k-10 6.2 litre. I need to replace the seals that are behind the air bleed valve and the water drain valve. It is listed as part number 15529641. chevy discontinued production of this part. so here are a few questions
1) can I get the part anywhere any more?
2) can I replace the whole fuel filter assembly with a newer version thereby eliminating this problem forever

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

The part is now 15535678. Any GM dealer should be able to get it.

15535678 is the plastc screw thing I need the seals that go behind it. GM says they are discontinued and no dealer ship has them. I cannot even buy the base for the filter. Thanks

you can goto a big truck dealer and get a screw on filter base and remove the gm one. you can get water seperator or particulate. filters are at a rsonable price compared to gm ones. the one i got was a frame mount base with the filter.

I make them out of neoprene fuel/vacuum hose. Cut it off to the desired length. To get it "square" is a trial & error deal but it will work. I've cut them and installed them in many customer's vehicles with no comebacks.

I use the vacuum hose that is smooth on the outside, not the stuff with the ribs on it. I sometimes have to cut them several times to get the correct length. When they're right, the screw will just come up snug against the filter housing with slight resistance as it crushes and seats against the seal.

They haven't been readily available from most dealers for years. We continue to be resourceful and create it if we can't buy it.

Good luck, it will work!
