Is it lacking power? I thought they upped them from previous models.

I'm pretty sure they did up the power. BUT, like any other diesel nut out there, nothing ever has enough power.

You can add more power to it but you can't add cleaning capacity! WEve got a 9860 and I wouldn't have another one. A 9760 with a chip would do the same thing. WE rent a Lexion every fall to help with harvest and it will run circles around the Deere, but the Lexion is very crude with the controls and creature comforts.

im not really looking for more power. just boost some fuel economy.

I'm a John Deere technician and i can tell you for certain noone has made a programmer for the 70 series yet. With the new computer set up you can't fool the computer into changing fuel rates. So if you want better fuel economy i'd recommend not running it. Then you would have the best fuel economy out there!! ON a more serious note just keep the crop coming in without boggin it down too much and you'll have more crop harvested and less fuel used.
