I am leaving July 11th and going to ride the Piute trail in Utah and I am wondering if there is anthing that I should do to my truck before I go. The reason I am asking is 1. This is my first diesel as I have always been a 454 guy, 2. last year we took by brothers '02 Dodge and we had to pull over several times coming back through Colarado to let it cool off. I don't want this embarasment.
The trailer I'm pulling weighs 3900lbs, will be hauling 4 LARGE atvs, approx 1000lbs each, camping gear and food for 5 and 5 adults. My truck is a '07 classic, crew cab 3500 w/a 8.5" steel flat bed. My mods to date are only alum. rear diff. cover, diff. temp., boost, and egt gauges. I currently have a alum. trans pan and Trans Go Jr ordered from Merchant that I will install as soon as they arrive.
Any suggestions to help durability and fuel mileage will be greatly appreciated. Money is a little tight so please keep that in mind. Thanks for your time.
