Does anyone know what the balancing should look like at idle and if you give it some fuel? Below will be my measurements and I would like to know if it appears normal. I will also place my calibration information below as well.

At IDLE (fluctuating)

-2.5mm
+1.1mm
-1.15mm
+0.82mm
-1.1mm
-1.9mm
-2.5mm
+.10mm

With Throttle (Steady)

+0.82mm
+0.82mm
+0.82mm
+0.82mm
+0.82mm
+0.82mm
+0.82mm
+0.82mm

These measurements are with the Predator handheld programmer on the 65hp tune.

I am worried if everything looks ok. I have almost 70k miles on my truck.

As far as calibrations go, this is what I gathered from my Predator.

Operating System 15141668
Engine Calibration 15245557
Engine Diagnstics 15245548
Tranny Calibration 21996487
Tranny Diagnostics 15136386
Fuel Calibration 15087279

All this information is Greek to me but i would like to know more, just in case there is an issue with any of these items, like injector issues and or software updates needed.

Thanks again for any replies and helpful information.

Those look real good. I would check it again in gear with the brake applied though. My truck looked similar in park but number 2 shot up to the +15 range in gear. 70K miles already? Wow! I thought I was bad at 22K.

Yeah. I use it for my business. I peform systems integrations for comunications companies and it has me going all over the country so far. But mostly in the Southeast most of the time. I will check the levels in gear as well.

Someone posted the accepatable balance rates before. IIRC they were:

+/- 6mm "in drive with brake appled"

+/- 4mm "in neutral" at idle.

The + and - numbers are referenced to zero. I ASSume the a PERFECT balance rate would be "0".

The balance rates calculations are not performed once you touch the throttle (that is why you see all at 0.82). They are only applied when idling (no throttle applied). You need to check with the vehicle in neutral and in drive with brake applied (both cases with no throttle). Those are the two conditions to check.

In the conditions mentioned, this is what I have:

In neutral, parking brake applied:

.7ms (fluctuating .6ms)
.7ms
.7ms (fluctuating .6ms)
.7ms
.6ms
.7ms
.7ms
.7ms

In Drive with parking brake applied:

.7ms
.8ms (fluctuating .7ms)
.7ms
.8ms (fluctuating .7ms)
.7ms
.8ms (fluctuating .7ms)
.7ms
.7ms

I guess it looks ok to me except for the fluctuating. That seems odd to me but may be fine.

You must be reading the wrong screen on the predator (you did not scroll down far enough). The units on balance rates a "mm" not "ms". In your first post, the first set of numbers are typical balance rate numbers and they do fluctuate with time. In your first post, your second set of numbers are not typical balance rates and have been skewed because the truck is not idling (a default value is used ---- everyones truck will be the same).

Retake your data in your post directly above. Make sure you scroll all the way down to the balance rates and do not stop at "Base PWM".

Take a look at this post for the procedure to check balance rates. I also posted a typical picture of my balance rates while idling.

Hope this helps.

The Predator is a fun device to use on the truck. It just takes a little bit of time to interpret the data.

Sorry. Here is the real dela.

In neutral, parking brake applied:

-2.0mm
+0.50mm
-1.3mm
+1.3mm
-2.2mm
-0.51mm
-0.90mm
-1.07mm

In Drive with parking brake applied:

-2.0mm
+0.69mm
-0.79mm
+1.36mm
-3.21mm
-0.40mm
-1.19mm
-0.73mm

So How does this look. I would like to learn more as to find out what I need to be watching for.

Those numbers look much better.
