: rental car when my rig is in the shop
michael nelson 02-21-2005, 06:40 PM I will be taking my truck in soon to the stealer for small misc. things, like the 4x4 light on the dash is out, recall on the pressure accumulater, and fuel filter change,I know they can not do this while I wait,so I will need a rental, what should I expect,I will not settle for a ford escort or little 4-banger,since I have a 50,000 dollar truck, would a cadi be asking too much or a yukon xl?just wondering what others would expect to drive while work is being done-If I show up to work in a piece o crap the guys will never let me rest? what is too much to ask for??? :help: :o:
carhauler 02-21-2005, 06:46 PM I got a rental based on ,I think ? $43.00 a day , this applys when your vehicle is tied up overnight, they gave me a enterprize 2004 Silverado , you have to pay the tax, had mine for 4 days it was $10.00 , they did not volunteer this info. when I complained later they gave me free oil changes for a year , cool!
LostBoy 02-21-2005, 07:00 PM I'd say find the nicest car they've got to offer wherever you rent it at (whether at the dealership or if they send you to the rental place down the street), and demand it. Most places will do just about anything to keep people quiet, if not happy, especially if you've spent $50,000+ with them :grd: I hear some good things about the new Vette, or the Caddy built on the Vette chassis, but that may be looking to have your cake and eat it, too :muahaha:
michael nelson 02-21-2005, 07:05 PM I have already test drove most gm vehicles-dont want to be cocky, well maybe I do,but I dont expect enterprise to have a hummer to offer,I have found that it is very rare to get a hummer, being married 11 years, is that off topic?
jmg343 02-21-2005, 07:12 PM id expect any half ton pick em up and i would beat the bejeezus out of it, do brake stands at every light, leave rubber on every straight, and maybe even jump it.:D
michael nelson 02-21-2005, 07:15 PM drive like I stole it?will do!!!!
Thinkmoto 02-21-2005, 07:28 PM Local dealer gave out cavaliers ......stripped down power nothing!!!! Don't be surprised though. I beat the thing into the ground...reverse donuts in the back field, the tires where schreeching for mercy about 90% of the time. The damn car for some reason wouldn't drift out in the turns. E brake was useless too!!!! the thought of jumping it cropssed my mind way too many times:badidea: I should have done it
aketay 02-21-2005, 07:32 PM If your under the bumber to bumper, they have to offer you a GM product at or above the level of trim you have. I have had a Tahoe LT, couple of Silverados and a Buick Park Avenue. Drive it like you stole it, it will be a program car one day.
jmg343 02-21-2005, 07:34 PM there were a few local "jumps" in the town that I grew up in and they could really send you if you wanted to be sent. I could tell stories about that place from people getting caught to people getting killed.
craSSh 02-21-2005, 07:41 PM The first time I went in for warranty work I got a Malibu. I thought it sucked. But the second time I got a Cavalier so it made the Malibu seem not so bad. But they both sucked!!!
michael nelson 02-21-2005, 07:45 PM I might be the first in the country to launch an escalade----
gearhead 02-21-2005, 07:50 PM you guy's are hard on your dealers, I will take almost anything they give me as long as it is a GM. point A to point B and back to point A
gtguy67 02-21-2005, 09:19 PM Normally I get a 2500 series work truck. When they f'd up a small paint defect twice, I raised hell to the GM and got a YukonXL with 20' wheels. I was a pimp for a day:D . It was sure nice to have the dmax back though.
