Have a 2006 LLY and am thinking about a tuner. Looking primarily for a towing tune and a lite performance/fuel economy tune setting. I am not interested in mind blowing power increases or limping transmission tunes.
Have it narrowed down to Diablosport predator or PPE Economy tuners at about $370 and $425 respectively. Any input or opinions on those that have used either? Also, the prices above are rough averages of a few different online site prices. Anyone know where to go to get a better deal on either?
Thanks.
I had the same question, and decided on the PPE Economy. Bought it from DSTRB. Had it in 2 days, and love it!
Can't compare to anything else, but I love the power delivery of what I have. Now I just gotta install my Edge Insight, so I can make keep an eye on everything.
PM DSTRB, he'll take good care of you!

Look around you can get the Predator for $300 new and $200-$250 used. For the price its the best you can buy IMHO. I am running the Predator on the 65 HP tune and saw a 1.5 - 2.0 MPG gain. That's probably the best your going to do with either programmer in reagards to mileage.

I don't have any experience with the PPE but I do like my Predator. The price was good when I bought it and it gives the all the performance and mileage gains I need. I've picked up between 1 and 2 mpg. I run the 65 for daily driving and 45 for heavy towing. On a trip last week with the cruise on 65 mph I was averaging close to 22 mpg so I'm happy.

I tried both the ppe and the diablo and the ppe made my 06 lly in my 4500 sound like a 7.3 puke on take off.The diablo is unreal on power and how smooth it runs is awesome and Iam only running mine on tow! not sure on milage yet i just put it in this weekend but i would highly recommend the diablo over the ppe.

I have the predator and like it. I run it on 85 most of the time.

I have both for my LBZ. Raw power I would go with PPE but that is not what you are looking for so I would definitely recommend the predator. I loved it from day one and have always thought the drivability seemed to be much better. This testing was done with the stock turbo and tranny and also the aurora 2k turbo.

What kind of weight do you tow?
