OK, NOW THAT WE HAVE DECIDED IT'S BETTER TO REPLACE THE CAT WITH A NEW DOWN PIPE FROM AN LB7, does anyone know what that does to EGT's?

It will lower your EGT's.

Vertical escape,

do you mean JUST the front pipe and no other modification? or do you mean a complete exhaust?

when I did the complete exhaust my temps went down almost 200 degrees. This time around I have only done the LB7 front pipe with the stock muffler and I don't really see too much of a difference except for 20 degrees or so. It ran fine while I pulled a 5k load. The only real noticable thing is the whistle on the turbo is much louder.

I am hoping to see cooler temps and maybe some mileage increase. we'll see.

Vertical-escape,
I just killed the cat with the LB7 pipe. I love it! I've noticed about a 20 degree drop in EGT's at cruising speeds also. I'm talking my everyday driving 70 mph highway.
And I love the new sound the beast has.
It has to be one of the easiest mods out there. :exactly:

All the threads I looked up said they seen lower EGT's..... It would make sense, less restrictions to slow exhaust allowing the heat to build up.

I'm going to run 4'' straight MBRP exhaust on the 05. Mufflers and Cats are for girls. LOL
