: Rear oil leak--warranty?

I just bought an 04 Sierra 2500HD with the LLY with 90,000 miles from a small dealership.
I was told the vehicle was completely checked out but a couple days later I was checking out the underside and noticed it is leaking oil from the rear of the engine. I read the FAQs and saw there were at least 2 TSBs on this and the engine still has 10,000 miles on the warranty, Should this be covered and if so do I contact the dealership I purchased the truck from, or what should I do?
Thanks in advance.

I would take it back to the dealer-- have them check it-- it may not be the main seal-- lots of areas for a oil leak. How bad does it leak-- just a few drops- or lots of drips-?

mine leaked a little so I snugged up the oil pan bolts a little and now all is well

It always seems to have a drip or two hanging from the pan, but I don't see any on the ground. I just crawled under it and tightened up the pan bolts and wiped it all off, (I could turn most of them about 1/4 turn) I called the dealer and explained what the situation was and that if the oil came back I would be bringing it in, he basically said no problem and to let him know. Now I just wait and see if it comes back.

Thanks for the advice.

Moved to warranty section!

Dealer recently put dye in mine to watch the situation. However, the warranty rule appears to be that nothing is done unless it is dripping — not just seeping. Actually, mine was dripping, but not after they wiped it off. So it depends on what is meant by "dripping".

Sorry about the wrong forum, I am used to my 6.5TD where we pretty much take care of ourselves all in the same forum.
