A friend of mine is trying to decide between an EFI Tune or the Edge Juice w Attitude. I currently have EFI and love it but he would like the opinions of some other people, like what would make the most power without having to make any mods to the truck like tranny etc.

Well what exactly does he want out of his truck?

Edge really doesn't make the thickest smoke. IMO Edge is meant for those who aren't really interested in making big power but still want that extra 'umph' when towing. The Attitude monitor comes in handy when keeping an eye on EGT and Boost. This may be what he is looking for. If he is looking to make bigger power in the future, then EFI or PPE might be what is best for him. It all comes down to what he wants out of the truck.

I run efilive for power, and edge for moniter, and i use the edge for extra smoke when some asshole is behind me too close.

really, you can run both? is that safe to do? I have edge and like it but efi live has a lot more to offer. I'd like to run both of them but someone was saying that I'll have timing issues?

There is a way to run just the edge monitor and run EFI live for tunning. My friend bought just the monitor and bought EFI live. I am not sure how he runs it but he does.

Just hook up the monitor not the box.

I have kept my edge for monitoring and I have a Dsp 5 for tuning. I have a cabinet full of chips and tuners like Edge, Banks, Superchips, and Diablo. People give them to me when I put EFI Live on thier trucks. There is no comparison when it comes to the way you can configure a tune specifically for the customer.

When you say "what do you use your truck for" it doesn't really matter with the Edge - you get what you get

BTW - you have to have the "box" hooked up for the monitor to work

I run EFILive and The Edge Insight, and I'm very happy with this set up. I've run The Edge Juice with Attitude on my older trucks, it worked good for what I was using it for and being able to change power on the fly was nice. With the new truck I needed EFILive so I could get rid of the tree hugging DPF and the codes that came with removing it. It all boils down to what you plan to do with your truck.

But I have seen a lot more people purchase one tuner or another then make the jump to EFILive than the other way around.
