alright well i love my predator tuner, ive had it for about a month now. i ran the 85 hp tune, until i tried the 120 tune. i love the 120, and im finding it hard to switch back. now my driving style with the 120, because i know its pushing the limit basically, i really dont beat on it. for the most part i drive it like there is a cop behind me, to get good fuel economy, if i do go WOT its generally once i enter 2nd or 3rd gear, and hold it for only a second or two, and dont let it shift while WOT.

i have done 2 boosted launches in 4wd, held it for 1-2 shift then let off and have done a hand full of roll on wot from 1st gear roll, and hold it for 1-2-3. im never really going more than 3-4 seconds of WOT, have never even made a 0-60 mph pass of WOT.

if i just maintain what im doing, will i be okay for the 120 tune? like boosted launches will be a rarity, i doubt i will even probabaly do it again. generally if i wanna toy with a civic i just start from a roll then giver balls for a few seconds to show off :P. i dont know, im new to this but it seems like im not beating on it to bad.

and incase your wondering i have never limped my tranny, i had it defuel on me once during the boosted 4wd launch 1-2 shift, but it didnt throw any codes.

When you felt the defuel on your boosted launch you might have done some damage. I like working with the '01 trans but it needs some changes.

if i stay away from boosted launches, only make a wot pass over a couple gears only like a couple times a week. will it be okay?

i dont really want to run the 85 tune, my mpg is so much better on the 120 tune.

You have way more self control than I do. :D

Also, be careful easing into the throttle to much in high gears. My TQ on the 85hp tune would start to shudder some if I gave it to much in high gears.

I believe you have an 07 and the tranny is a little stronger than my 05, but I only lasted 2 weeks or so on 85 before I limped in 5-4 passing a semi. I did have it on 65 for 2 years prior to trying 85. I think your torque converter will go first though...

k i just made it defuel again, but i was doing some reading and when people say they defuel it is different than mine.

when mine just did it, i rolled on WOT in 1st gear, tires lit up, 1-2 shift, it just held back on the throttle for like 1 second. just felt like it took a bit longer to shift. then it shifted and everything was fine.

from the sounds of when people defuel it shuts em down for a few seconds and engine light comes on. none of which has ever happend to me.

my truck is a 07 but its a classic.

My LBZ used to defuel occasionally on the high HP setting. The check engine light never came on, nor any codes set or flashing. It was just a second hesitation in the higher gears. I beleive the factory fuel system could not supply enough fuel for the desired horsepower. It would do it like 1 out of 10 times. Also, the newer Allison is strong as hell if properly maintained. Maybe I was lucky but mine took an insane amount of abuse without ever slipping or limping. Take care of your truck and it'll take care of you.
