Is anybody using one of these and if so, what do you think about it?

Looks like a solid improvement as the stock set up draws air from under the hood. With all the intake changes GM did fgor the pickup line I don't see why they didn't set up the van properly.

AFE does not make anything for the van. I hate when websites post stuff like that.

I have been thinking about that or having the hood louvered. My only concern is about when it rains.

There is a material that lets in air , but not water . I have it on my Raptor's air filter , can't remember the trade name , not awake yet.

AFE makes a filter replacement for the Duramax vans. They used my van to develop it. If it's not in their catalog yet, give them a call.

Is it just a drop in filter or a complete air intake kit?

The filter is just a drop-in. I'll try to figure out how to post some pics. They told me when they were fitting it that they figured out it's basically a Hummer H2 filter element, just a bit shorter. I wish it were a complete kit.

So is it a "dry washable?". Did you notice any difference from the stocker ? I wish the center was open to allow more air in.

The two things I noticed is that I can hear the turbo whistle and there is less smoke under load. Yep it's a dry washable, they have a 4 layer oil and a 7 layer oil also. Talking to there rep they said the dry washable would be the way to go since I have to go on dirt roads once in a while.

Hmmmmmm. I might have to check into getting one of those. Where did you get yours ? I am sure it is not overpriced. Thanks for the pics and info.

Would you happen to have a part # ? Somebody at AFE is telling me only a 7 layer oil is available. I like your dry washable better.

My AFE filter came in today. I went with the 7 layer oiled filter. Amazon had it for $ 52.00 delivered. I will let you know how it works out.

It is working out ok. No huge improvements anywhere but will save many $ in not having to buy the high dollar stock filter.
