The "Ice Pick" fix--- you use an icepick to press on the injector terminal connector through to the terminal. It raises a small dimple inside the terminal to make better contact with the injector terminal. The terminals are weak and loose their tension. GM made the harnesses a little short and at an angle so they pull sideways which causes them to loose contact-- #2 and # 7 are the major ones. GM fix is the replace the injector harness on the problem injector, and install a new bracket. These also fail for some people. Many techs will replace the injector first-- when the only problem is the contact with the injector.

Every LLY owner should know how to do this and always carry an ice pick. Of course some wait until they have a problem, while crossing the desert at 120 degrees temps or driving late at night, with their family.

I've read alot of threads about this issue with our trucks, - think somewhere someone said if it aint broke don't fix it. I agree with this thought , but I don't want to get stuck in east bubble *****, so should those of us that have not had a problem yet - do the icepick fix just in case it might happen? I have 37,000 on my truck

I have 40,000 on my truck and I did the ice pick trick. Its a known problem and I consider it preventive maintenance. So far so good. No way i want to get stuck in Mexico with a problem--especially one that is so easy to fix! There is a great post in the DIY section for the fix--thanks-- to who ever did the write-up.
