was told by the guy that i bought the suburban from that the wastegate solenoid did not need to be hooked up because of the heath turbo booster that was installed. there is no chip.. just the turbo. as im looking around the forums for reasons on having no power.... allmost all of them mention the vacuum lines on the wastegate solenoid.

do i need to hook these up... and if i do, where do they go?

Is there a spring thiny on side of the turbo? If so, you have a Turbo master (Probably Heath, based on what you said), and no, you don't, as long as the sol is plugged into the comp.

7-8 lbs of boost is good for a stock engine. It shouldn't blow black smoke, or set codes there. Nice looking truck. You may want to check the wiring to the MAP and IAT sensors so that the PCM is getting signals from them. If there aren't signals then the PCM will cause a defuel that limits power. Everything you need to know can be found on this site by using the search and diagnostics.

with the stock computer 7 to 8 sustained is about all you can have before the truck will code and de-fuel because the truck no longer has control over the boost. with a reflashed computer you can set it to ~15 psi, but i'd say you'd want an intercooler for sustained levels of 15 psi. stock compression ratio is 22:1 so any more boost than 15 psi for any amount of time can blow out headgaskets(if anything breaks you want it to be this) or worse.
