: Could my ingnition switch be loose?

I replaced my ignition switch about a year ago thinking it was bad. When I removed the old...like a half wit I snipped the two wires to to make it unusable in case it turned out not to be bad. Anyhow, I put in a new sorenson switch and it started acting funny a few months ago. Radio and clock light stays on after I remove the key and sometimes the ac fan will stay on. A couple of times no starty just clicky...after giggling the key tumbler I have managed to get the truck to start.

My questions are: Is the ingnition switch shot or on it's way shot or could it just be loose or something.

I'm not looking forward to pulling the console apart again or spending the money on another switch!

Do the symptoms i've described sound like the ignition switch is faulty?

Was the above a dumb question?

Just wondering if it could really be anything else.

Is there a simple way to test the ignition switch?

Update: It was the ignition switch...In case anyone was wondering.

That sorensen switch was a waste of money...It really didn't last very long at all. It had started going bad right away it just took me awhile to figure it out. Things like...I could put the windows up and down with the key out. I just let that go when if I would have pin-pointed it to the ignition switch early on the switch would have still been way under the year warrenty. The parts place no longer carrys sorensen switches ( I wonder why) The best they would do is give me 10% off on the $155 AC Delco switch. I paid $165 for the sporensen. Just a rant!!
