I've been discussing installing the high idle kit with a guy I work with (we both have '01 trucks). We ordered the kits from the GMDieselTech online store and put them on today. We did it at my house, so my truck was already parked in place to be the guinea pig. We had a little trouble getting a couple of the covers off of the things and getting the wire through the firewall, so the installation took about 1½ hours. It worked great on the first try! We pulled his truck into my garage and the second installation only took about 30 minutes. His also worked first time!

I'm very pleased to have this nice, useful and inexpensive mod. Thanks to Mittie Dragosljvich for the instructions posted at John Kennedy's website and thanks to Eric Merchant for putting together a nice, simple kit for the rest of us.

Cool! Can I come up next weekend & you can help me install high-idle on my truck? :joke:

That's one thing I keep saying I'm going to do to my truck, but I never get around to doing it.

I installed one on a 2002 and wire up the remote to it, so you can start it, and remote
the high idle up.

If you guys are waiting to do this mod, it's really fairly easy to install...just takes a bit of your time. We wired ours to the green/white brake wire, so an additional switch wasn't necessary.

toocold, that install is...........too:cool2:
