can any one tell my what would happen if you took dpf off and knocked out the filter and put it back on would sensors think dpf is clean.

it would not help anything and it will code as it will have a lot less back pressure and it will know something is wrong.

It will still code. Yes it would think its ok not to regen as far as the probes go. But Gm put in this timer or mileage in the computer. When it hasnt regened within this time or mileage it hits another code. Thats why a DPF delete pipe for the DPF will not work either.
You could nock it out but very expensive part your messing with if you need it someday.
Your options are full turbo back and programmer or DPF delete pipe and a programmer.

Does anyone make a DPF delete pipe? I cannot find one.

Nope well not that I know of as it is not legal to make one. But what most do is get a turbo back kit for an LBZ and just remove all the DPF crap.

It would be nice just to remove the DPF part and keep it quiet.

this is what i did with my grandfathers new lmm, I used 4" SS flex pipe with a reducer and band clamps and deleted the DPF and shut off codes and tuned it with EFI live, it goes like hell now and wont regen and gets better mileage.

Why couldn't you knock out the DPF media from the DPF pipe put the pipe back on and just use a programmer to delete the regen from the tune. I am wondering why so many of the threads on this site suggest that the whole exhaust has to be replaced. I would like to just stop the regen process without replacing the whole exhaust system. I am not looking for more power or making the exhaust sound different. I would like information on how to defeat or delete the DPF regen cycle the cheapest way possible.

The cheapest way possible and to get thru a visual inspection is to take the media out of the filter. Add a programmer. Your right.
Now down the road will it still pass the sniffer. I dont know. So now you have to spend 3 grand on a new DPF system.

I think the DPF delete pipe is the way to go if you want to keep it quiet. Bolt and unbolt flange to flange.

if you read the proposed law it doesnt apply to our trucks

Need to fine a company that makes the DPF delete pipe and we are golden. I could change the exhaust, but I like how quiet it is now. Maybe even include a no cat option with the DPF delete pipe.

Uhmmmm. DPF vehicles have a DOC.

It's before the DPF and it's called a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) converter. Below is a brief description of the DOC.

"The DOC controls emissions of non methane hydro carbons (NMHC), and soluble organic fraction (SOF). The DOC is also utilized in regenerating the exhaust particulate filter (EPF). The engine control module (ECM) monitors the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor 1 during regeneration to determine if regeneration temperatures can be maintained."

exactly it is not a cat

I would buy a DPF delete pipe if anyone would make them. I would also buy a programmer that would just delete the DPF regeneration. I really don't need any more power. This truck has enough to haul my trailers without problems and not enough to get me into trouble. All of this I would do for off road use, of course.

I have a cat next to the transfer case, a dpf under the rear doors, and a muffler in front of the axle.. I assume this is standard from the dealers on all lmm's...

What are the first 3 letters of the C in DOC?

I (and I assume many others) use cat or kitty as a generic term for catalyst. As in 2 way cat, 3 way cat (on gassers) or diesel oxidation catalyst for us.
