Here is some pix of a Silverado on the new Nitto Dura Grapplers. These are designed for high torque trucks with a highway tread design... perfect for those like myself who use their trucks for towing with mild offroad use and who want to keep their ratings in check while towing heavy loads.

I got a set from the manufacturer to try and like them so far. I did not want a
too aggressive tread because I travel to San Felipe about once a month. I wanted a little bit of a tread to get in the sand--they are the perfect tire for me---so far a great tire.

I have some 285 durra grapplers mounted on chrome h2's. I tow alot and wish i would have went with the 265's. I only have about 3,000 mi. on them. They are 10 ply and have a load rating of 3750, they are also very quiet. I have more pics in garage. They seem to be wearing well so far.

BWhite, why would you have preferred the 265's... mileage reasons? Those look good on your truck. I think 265's would look too skinny.

mosslager, the 285's make my gearing too tall gearing wise. It down shifts alot on hills. it would be ok if it just downshifted to 5th. Sometimes it will downshift to 5th, and then to 4th right before i crest the hill. I tryed to manually shift, but egt's went to about 1380deg. I know that temp wont hurt anything for a short period of time. I am towing about 10,000lbs, running 70-75 mph. I think i am probably going too fast. It would never downshift to 4th with the stock 245's running the same speeds.

Would there be any problems when running a 265/70/17 on an H2 rim for say, my truck. I dont really want to go to a 285, i'm thinkin 265/17 will be close enough, if not rubbing on something....The only reason I ask if there would be a problem is on the tire company's website it doesnt have a 265 listing for a LT 265/70/17 on a 9" wide rim...

BTW how much were the Dura grapplers? if you dont mind me asking...

On another forum I pulled the pix from it was a member price of $769.95 for 4 on a 285/75/16.
