hi all im new to this forum and i went yesterday to my dealer and i ask them for changing the oil of my trany and they only have Dexron III oil which is the normal ATF and i ask them if they have the TranSynd they said they dont have them so is thear any other oil that i can use it other than ( TranSynd and Amosil ) and what do you think of Mobil 1 ATF oil is it good for Allison 1000 trany and what about the mobil 1 engine oil fully synth. and one more thing the outer oil trany filter when should i change it after how many miles .
P.S. : the manual said i should use the normal Dexron III oil in the Allison trany

i run the fully synthetic mobil delvac 1 oil and the sythetic mobil 1 ATF in my tranny. as far as the oil goes you cant get any better, or more expensive for that matter. Not too sure how the mobil tranny fluid is for our allisons but i dont see any reason why it would not be ok and have not seen any ill effects as of yet. Ive been running it for 20,000 miles now. The manual calls for the change of the spin on filter at every 25,000 miles under certain conditions, as many as 50,000miles under less harsh conditions. I personally will be changing my spin on tranny filter at every 15,000 miles.
just what im doin', dont make it right

Any oil that has a DexIII rating will work, Its up to you if you want to run syn or not.
Personally i run the Mobil 1 syn ATF. LOTS of guys here are using the TranSynd.
As far as the motor oil goes thats a good debate. Some believe that running a syn oil is a waste if you dont use annalysis, yet others still use it and change it regularily. I use Delvac 1 and am happy so far.............no annalysis here....................IMHO
i wouldnt run syn oil untill motor is broke in. The spin on filter has also been debated but the tranny gurues say every 5000 miles.

I run Mobil 1 in my trans and have had excellent results. I will continue to run it. If I were to run amsoil I would make sure it was thier torquedrive or what ever they call it not thier regular replacement atf. I would still prefer to run transdyne than amsoil.
Change your spin on filter at 500 miles(or now if you have been over that) dont forget the dounut magnet on the top of it and then IMO change it every oil change. Prefill the filter and you wont really need to top off your trans when you change the filter.
