Hi,

Maybe you'all haven't noticed, but around here the price of fuel is starting to creep up a wee bit (sarcasm). The odometer is also telling me that the transmissin is about due for a flush and fill. I've been using straight dino fluid, but was wondering if the synthetic ATF (transyn or Scamsoils or ?) would give any mpg improvements?

Is there anyone that has detailed fuel use records showing a positive change from a switch to synthetic?

Thanks!

The only savings will be in longer extended service intervals, cooler running Alli and better life. There will be no gain in mileage.

I agree with Mike L., extended drain intervals are the reason to use synthetics.

You'll likely see a very small incremental savings at the fuel pump, but that get's consumed by the higher cost of the "synthetic" fluid.

I'd also love to see "detailed records" that show significant fuel savings by switching to synthetics. Unfortunately, while some will claim gains, they lack the credible details, the true analytical data, to back it up. "Because I said so ..." doesn't fly with me. But I'm biased; I do statistical quality analysis for a living.

I don't look at synthetics as a dollar savings at all. It is just piece of mind for me.

X2...I use synthetic ATF to save money through the extended drain intervals.

That was my gut feel, thanks.
