hey all, just wanted to let you know that if you live close enough to a border town in mexico, you might be able to get ultra low sulfur diesel for half the price. i live in el paso, texas. diesel is averaging $4.79 a gallon, i pumped today in juarez, mex for $2.19 a gallon(not liters, gallons!) i've been driving around with mexican(pemex) diesel for about 3 weeks now and my truck feels fine. i have a 2008 lmm and i've been checking the diesel filter gauge daily and it hasn't changed one percent. im really considering one of those titan tanks so i dont have to be going into juarez so often...anywho,if you do go to mexico, make sure the city your in carries ulsd for those with lmms

Yeah I got sum for 2.14 below McAllen Texas.......Only 61 to fill me up from ememty. So how can Mexico sell it for that when we cant. Cause you know PEMEX is not losing any money. This is BS.

Not to dampen the thread, but how were the lines to cross the border and at the pumps? I saw on the news that the lines were terrible because of all the people going there to buy fuel. The news story did not say if the problem was thru TX, AZ. or CA.
I plan on buying some fuel there, if I ever get down that way. Who could pass it up?

Does Mexico subsidise there diesel fuel? I was in Silao Mx for work a few weeks ago and the price of gasoline once converted from liters to gallons and pesos to dollars was within 20C of michigan gas prices

it all depends on what time you are crossing the border, just like rush hour traffic; you need to avoid anytime that people are commuting to work or school. i usually go between 2-4 pm and i only wait about 10-15 minutes.

A lot of countries subsidize their fuel prices...Mexico & China are 2 of the bigger ones I remember...although, China is supposedly going to cut back on the subsidies due to the higher prices.

I believe that India also subsidizes diesel fuel costs. So you have China and India, the two most populous countries in the world that are sucking huge volumes of oil/diesel and joe public is not paying for it in those countries.

^^^^^WOW

anywho, just saw this morning that china is increasing their subsidy prices by 18% for gas & 40% for diesel. anyways when did mexico start pumping ulsd? we r in cali & have groups of friends getting together to go down & fill up. word i heard is that its lsd, it's $2.50 a gallon & u can't bring back more then 190 gallons in the bed of ur truck plus ur tank. everyone here is getting auxilary tanks for this reason. not sure what is true & what is b.s. but i will soon enough. I am dpf deleting so I can do the trips with them. If anyone knows for sure that mexico is pumping ulsd please confirm that, I am very interested to know.

Around here, if the government is paying for something, it just means that we're paying, then they're mismanaging the money, and dishing it out.

My uncle was turned away from three stations in mexico on his way home from fourth of july in rocky point. Has anyone else had any problems with them refusing to fill your truck?
