JOKERGERM

I do like the two tone. im just not a stripe guy.

Unless its on an old hot rod or something.

How nice is the paint job? any oragne peel, or fish eye?

My mom just had her pruis repainted from a minor fender bender, and it looks like shit.

There is dirt and oragne peel and fish eye, and in the right light you can see the sanding scrathes.

She thinks it looks great.

im gonna take it down there and learn them a thing or 2 about body work tommorow.

LOL

06-16-2008, 01:06 AM
I understand what you are saying.... It is pritty flawless. No Orange peel, sand marks, or fish eyes. Was 400 nice cars and trucks at show and 10 judges. All the judges picked my truck for best paint.

i'd say go black wheels, also imo loose the chrome mirror caps

foreman00081
06-27-2008, 01:41 PM
i like the chrome but not those wheels, too many sharp edges on them, i would go with something with a much bigger lip and a more simple design, because the paint is so fancy i dont think you need a rim thats equally as fancy. your eye doesnt know where to look first, its kind of distracting so i vote chrome thats simple, clean and classy. and especially if its getting lifted you need a deep dish rim. i also agree on losing the mirror covers, keep everything above the stripes black and id also suggest ditching the bolt over billet grill for a full replacement without the GMC logo. also clear headlights would look really nice. sorry for all the suggestions, the truck is coming along nicely and looking great! and congrats on the show win.

edit, gotta throw 2 more things in here, id go to 03+ chevy tail lights, they look soo much better than GMC tails and paint those door handles!

i hope you didnt mold that hood scoop into your stock hood.. hopefully that pic was just a few spots your fixing in a fiberglass hood.. cause with the heat of a motor it dosnt go well with body filler/fiberglass. I have molded on few hood scoops and never fail to crack cause the heat.. It takes a while but it will do it taht and the vibration of the customer slamming the hoods.. I refuse to do them anymore.

No the scoop is not molded into stock hood. The hood is a Suncoast Single Scoop Functional Ram Air Hood, but was a bodyman special. had a few flaws which had to be fixed but saved $900.00

I agree.

Very nice job on the truck man. I know how much work it is, and wow you did a great job! Getting a clean paint job in a garage is nothing but a miracle. I have done it.

By the way, paint the mirrors black...keep the wheels...lift her up a bit...and clean that overspray up in the box lol.

Not bad at all, once you get underthere for the first time it looks a little intimidating, but once you start going it gets really easy. Many of the lifts have great instructions. It is just time consuming
