: Banks wastegate adjustment with Edge/Attitude?
DMAX POWER007 02-20-2005, 02:44 PM I just installed my Edge/Attitude this week. Do I need to do any wastegate actuator arm adjustment on my Banks wategate? I don't seem to be boosting much over 27 lbs on level 4. If so, how many turns on the arm? I was expecting about 30-33 lbs of boost. (according to some of my past reading) Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Got Juice? 02-20-2005, 03:58 PM are you measureing the boost on a stock trans in 5th gear? Perhaps the juice is defuelling to protect the trans and as a result the boost is dropping.
Of course you could turn the boost up a little more, but..... are you reading pre or post CAC?
It isn't worth blowing it up just for an experiment. Besides, the turbos on ebay as of late look a little on the rough side.

My boost gauge port is in the intercooler pipe feeding into the turbo. About 6 inches in front of the stock boost sensor. 27 lbs is the maximum boost that I see throughout the acceleration process. I was at 26 stock.

Got Juice? 02-21-2005, 12:25 AM is your tranny built up?
What altitude do you live at?
Are you going to stack any other program with the juice?
I need more info in order to help out

Tranny is stock. (for now) Hope to get another 50,000 miles before building.
I live in Columbus Ga. Can't be more than 500 ft. above sea level. (probably much less)
If I do, I will run the Predator on 40 HP tune. Will it make enough difference to warrant doing it? I've read mixed reviews.
Most of the rest info is in my SIG. My truck has 130,000 miles. My tranny slip numbers seem comparable to others with far fewer miles.
Thanks for your help!
Got Juice? 02-21-2005, 01:58 PM you can run to 30 PSI safely with just the Juice.
if you are going to stack i would leave it where you are.... as well, you might be seeing some defuel to protect the trans which will also cause your boost number to drop
ratlover 02-21-2005, 02:10 PM No sense to stack, especially if you want your trans to last a long happy life.
You are running the 90 HP level?

Mostly level 3. Currently letting the tranny learn level 4. Any suggestons?

Probably won't stack. How many more turns on the actuator arm would you suggest?
Got Juice? 02-21-2005, 02:29 PM ummm wait a sec, you are only at level 3 and seeing 27 psig of boost....
I would wait to adjust it until you know what max boost is when in the top level you are going to run.
It takes fuel (heat) to make boost. the less heat the less boost. the less exhaust flow the less boost.
So if we give you 30 psi on level 3 , level 4 and level 5 could possibly nuke your turbo if the conditions are correct.
so, for now, wait until you run in the higher levels...... and see what your numbers are.
Boost means nothing other than your turbocharger is working. It does not give us any relative reference point to shaft RPM, volume or drive pressure.
On the top levels of the juice (with a built tranny) you should be seeing no more than 32 safe PSIG
The catch -22 is that unless you have a (transgo minimum) the Juice will defuel to protect your trans like crazy.... and you will not see the true maximum performance of the Module.

I was just courious since I was boosting 26 lbs stock with intake and exhaust up grades.
