I have had an 08' CC DRW on order for 5 months now. The other day I went to the dealer to see if i can add the new options for 09'. He had the order page up but all the options didnt have pricing.
As i am told. The people who have been waiting on an ordered 08' will be switched to an 09' and produced within 2- 3 months. This is what a dealer told me, so i am hoping it is correct...

I'm in the same boat. My 08 has been on order since March. Today my dealer says it doesn't look good for me getting my truck. He mentioned 2 plants closing. I haven't confirmed this yet and even if some plants have closed- what are they going to do? They gotta make TRUCKS! He said maybe they will make them as 09's and I inquired about the deal I had made and he said GM has to do something for all of us waiting. and maybe my deal will stand.

FYI, the ONLY 2 plants that make Silverado HD (with DIESELS) are Pontiac East & Flint. Pontiac East makes regular cab & extended cabs. Flint truck assembly builds the crew cabs & the bigger trucks (4500,5500 & LARGER) - ALL CREW CABS. They aren't on the list for that reason. They have cut production #'s for the time being & Pontiac East will be going to 1 shift as a result of sales. GM won't be getting out of the diesel building business till the end. Same as the other BIG Truck builders. Sales are slow for many reasons, for us little guys, it is diesel fuel costs. The Big boys still need trucks & they get a whole lot less MPG then we do. Howard

Have you heard of anyone getting their ordered trucks recently? CC/SB 4x4 HD?

I trying to get info. & end up with answering machines? Talked to my contacts & the end of this month for most new orders = 2009. The delayed trucks because of the axle strike will have build dates till 7/30, then they will be switched to 2009 models.

I ordered a 2008 in February. When it became apparent it would not be built anytime soon I cancelled my order.

Tuesday of this week I placed an order through my dealer for a 2009 Sierra fully loaded. I was told that the tentative word was that construction on 2009s would start on July 29 but there was no guarantee because the dealer advised that he could not obtain any definitive information from his rep or headquarters.
