DIESEL 5

I traded the wife's car for 08 Mercedes E320 Bluetec last week and I just love this car, its very responsive and gets great MPG.:D
I am thinking of running B20 and already found a performance chip for it from Brabus.
Here is some info on the chip:
"The PowerXtra D6 BLUE Power Kit that boosts the horsepower up by 47 to 258 horsepower, and bumps the torque up to 450 pound-feet. The new chip also meets EURO V exhaust requirements, so the Merc won’t be belching diesel smog when the loud pedal gets some exercise. The extra boost sprints the E300 from 0-60 in under 6.8 seconds."
Anyone else here is driving a Bluetec or a CDI?
Any other performance upgrades out there for this car?

Keep us posted...particularly the mileage and the urea system. I was trying to lease one through Walters in Riverside, but the sales people kept trying to steer me toward a gas version because they couldn't or wouldn't track down an E320 BlueTec. Looks like I'll hold out for an Audi TDI.

Lucky dog - I tried talking the wife into an E-class Bluetec but when she found out that it was diesel... NO!!!
I get the next vehicle (in theory) - either a bluetec or a Camaro...
Congrats on the purchase! Have you joined the 800 mpg per tank club yet>

Why would your wife mind the diesel?
This bluetec is very quite and you could not smell any diesel fumes from the tailpipe.
Have her test drive one ...I'm sure she will change her mind.

You might also look into rocketchip.com for tuning that car.
Nice!

Diesel_5: she refused to get the diesel because I LIKE diesels. Also the price was quite a bit more than the C230 Sport she ended up with.
We're out of the car-buying business for a while until the country settles down and we get back on track.
That E-class is one bad mother of a car. Gotta give the Krauts credit when due. Congrats again. Hopefully I may end up with one in 2009...

Thanks Manny !
Sure....the guy that runs Rocketchip can be hard to get hold of, but he does excellent work. Sending the ECU is not that big of a deal, much, much better than a tuning box, IMO.
He also gives free upgrades. :D

Probably cause of all the jerk-offs who spill diesel at the pumps from over-filling and the fact that 99% of the time, the filler nozzle is coated in fresh diesel. And a diesel car can't always fuel where we fuel, due to nozzle size. And some stations still offer LSD and IIRC, you'll need ULSD.
All in all, the car ain't the sticking point, the stations for fuel are.
