: A costly mistake?

I puchased an 08 chevy 3500 diesel dually a couple weeks ago after owning a gas Ford 350 dually. Had the 15k Lil Rocker hitch taken off the old truck and installed on the Chevy. When I hitched up the trailer I had 1 and 1/2 inch clearance from the trailer to the truck rails. I couldn't believe there was that much difference between the Ford and the Chevy.
NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!
I noticed that there was one notch that I can move on the hitch, but that won't be enough. You all have any suggestions to get more clearance? What kind of hitch should I use?

you should be able to go up with the hitch at least and 1" ior more and you should also be able to adjust your pin box down to compensate for the difference. How old is the hitch? If it is pretty old, you would probably be better off just replacing the hitch with a newer model with a little more height adjustability. You can a new hitch for not much money on the internet, and most hitches should fit in your exsisting rails since they are almost all industry standard. Etrailer.com has some great hitches for really good prices. I just bought a new Curt Q5 20K hitch for $499 including shipping! It fit nicely in my old reese rails.
