After noticing my truck lugging I figured water in my fuel so I drained the water seperator petcock. Right after that the truck shut down. The fuel supply pump was bad so I replaced it and the fuel filter. The new one ran fine. After cycling the pump to remove the air in the lines it started and ran fine. I took it for a ride after 4 miles and getting on it. It died. Any how the pump is running fine there is plenty fuel going to the high pressure pump. It still wont run?? Is the fuel bad? Is the h/p pump shot? Is it a fuel shut off selinoid? The temp outside has been 20* could there be ice in the h/p pump?(it is plugged in and warm) I dont know where to go from here? The truck has 42,000 miles on it is the h/p pump covered by cummins? HELP.... Thanks...

Yes the pump is covered. It's possible the new lift pump went.

Lift pump is a likely culprit.... did you crack the injector lines while starting to see if you get and fuel out of them?
do one at a time , crank engine for 10 seconds each (or until diesel comes out) then re tighten and try for restart
