I have what you call a clean slate. I'm not too power crazy but definately want more, put bigger tires, and add a few cosmetic things such as a xenon headlight kit or something. any recomendations? I'm thinking edge juice/attitude,bfg mud terrains 315/70R16. any input would be much appreciated.:)

Edge juice attitude is the right way to think. I've had mine for 9 months and have no regrets. Warning: It will make you power crazy even if you dont think so now.

Yeah. Don't think that when I bought mine that I thought that I would have tranny upgrades allready. I'm not addicted to nicotine but I think I know what those people go through.

LOL , I really don't want to go as far as a tranny upgrade , just out of curiousity, what would I put and how much would it cost?

There is a variance of opinion on this site about this but I have a complete ats with copilot, all new clutches and I love it and would recommend it to anybody. I paid $4600 to have it installed and parts and everything most people say that is really cheap. I can hook you up with the guys who did mine if you are willing to drive this far once you are ready. You can get cheaper kits that will hold plenty but I go overboard on everything.

yeah maybe once I actually buy the truck, it's leased for the moment. don't think i'll go too far for the next 2 1/2 years anyways . guess if I install juice I'll have to hide it every time I take it in.

i was just looking at a transgo shift kit for our trucks. i was shocked at how low a price i found. my only question now is what does the installation of the transgo shift kit entail? Is this something anyone with average mechanical skills can do or is this something for a tranny technichian specialist fixer guy.

oh yeah and if a full tranny upgrade is about 5 grand but will ensure dependability even after our horsepower upgrades would it not be a good idea to jump in head first and upgrade the tranny, then start piling on the horsies? Or, is that putting the cart before the horse?

yeah, I'll probably start with the least expensive stuff first and go from there.I'm the kind of guy who gets bored with stuff quick,so if I'm always puting some little thing on, I'll be content. So far so good with this truck, it's been almost 6 months and I still look forward to driving it each day. gonna buy the tires soon, guess i'll need green keys and some blocks for the rear end if I'm gonna put the 315's on. I see a few of you guys have done that and it looks great.):h thanks for the input guys, more would be also much appreciated.

Ooh Matt, you will come over to the Dark Side soon. Once you get the Juice, you're hooked and you'll only want more. April 24 baby. That's when the track opens up and the fun begins.

I've read and read and read some more. I finally decided on the Predator programmer. I bought one for $324 delivered to my door next day. I'm totally satisfied with what it does. It surprised me to say the least. Bang for the buck I'd say it cant be beat. This thing pushed you in the seat before, now it pins me there and pulls HARD. No problems at all with it, DTC's or anything, on a 2004.5 LLY. I've run it on all settings so far, only thing was waiting for the Allison to learn how to shift again which didn't take long. I've also had no re-flashes done to my truck since it was new. I'm also not easily impressed, have had fast cars with blowers and killer fast bikes too, but this diesel amazes me how it pulls. I would highly recommend the Predator.

now its a toss up between the predator an the edge. if I spend less on a programmer that will leave more$$$ to put other stuff.

If you're going to go with larger tires get the predator, it sure is nice having the speedometer right again. That's my vote anyway. Also, if you send an email or PM to whoever you're going to buy from, you'll get a better deal than on their site usually.

Or, is that putting the cart before the horse? That is the smartest thing you can do. That way you can put on any box or combination of boxes and not have to worry about it. Most people to start with don't think that they are going to go that far and spend all that money right away.

If you opt for the Edge for LLY's wait a few weeks to see if the "fix" comes out.

Not all LLY trucks run well with the first version of the LLY Edge. I tried 4 units, and all of them had issues with either bark or low power off the line.

this spring i'll make my decision . that way they'll have time to work all the bugs out(of the edge). I'm extremely busy right now but in a month or so things will slow down and I'll have lots of time to work on the truck . looking forward to it

Yeah I recall Kennedy saying something about a fix for the Edge. It should be out very soon.
