I decided that I don't like the A-pillar for my gauges. The upper console looks cleaner. The problem is that my console seems to look different then ones I have seen where gauges have been installed. The truck is a 05' with a sunroof and I wonder if this is why the sunglass holder location is smaller. It is the same in wide but smaller in height to accept 2 1/16" gauges with the aftermarket bracket. Has anyone else discovered this? I am wondering if I bought another console from the dealer and cut the hole bigger if I can make this work clean??

There was another thread a while back where someone had the same question on an '05 with sunroof. Their Trippin Mount wouldn't fit. I believe Trippin was willing to take a look at making a mount if someone is willing to loan him their overhead console for measurements.

No big deal. I'm going to buy a new console, and then mill a plate of aluminum on my Bridgeport mill. Thought it would be easy to just buy the plate pre-made!

Heres the pict!!!!!Not to sound stupid or anything, but is that console grey or tan? flashes always mess up the interior color.

Theres a couple for sale on Ebay in Denali interiors/consoles.....same shorty style with sunroof buttons but with the big opening. That may be your best bet. You could even get one from a Suburban with the rear air controls, and just take those out. DmaxalliTech sells the blank cover so you could plug the hole later if you had to.

The interior head liner and console are tan. How much could that piece be anyway......I buy at garage price from the dealer through my shop.......maybe $ 20-30???
