I've run 1500 miles dino, normal load, easy pedal, same temperature range, and 1500 miles the same as above with B99. I noticed no difference in power and less smoke when loading the engine on grade when running B99. Sure the exhaust smells finger lickin' good, but I see no hint of performance loss.

I just changed my filter at 15K, just let'er go until the DIC kept reminding me I was at 0% life. No filter problems I am assuming because of Chevron dino plus additive every tank.

Now for the meat of the issue. I averaged 15.7 mpg (calc method) running dino. 16.4 mpg (calc method) running B99. Granted 1500 miles each combined for 3K isn't a quality sample size, but I think it may be more accurate keeping in mind I live in AZ and wanted to be in the same temp range before we got to 110 half way through my test run.

What confuses me is, I've always been led to believe Bio had less energy thus less mpg than dino. Maybe the warmer clime here has something to do with it?

Anyways, just thought I'd throw that out there for those that may give a damn. Dino here $4.79, B99 here $4.29. Not a big enough difference in price for me to give a damn anymore on the Bio subject.

edit.... I guess a little background info would help.

I think you did a good job. I would not thumb my nose at .50c a gallon less and 1mpg better with the bio. Thanks for the info if they ever start selling the stuff here ill give it a try.

I wish we could get some in my area for that price (or any price for that matter). I can't find it within 100 miles of me.

I am not sure but may be ULSD fuel have less energy than Bio. Also the fact that Bio have more lubrication may cause the IP to be more efficient. Bio have more Cetane than ULSD fuel. Just some non-scientific speculation. Now, we just have to produce Bio more efficiently, we are all set.

You just have to watch out for regens with the bio. I have to run a 50/50 mix bc my truck won't regen with the bio. Something about the flashpoint. I am fixing to solve that problem though by taking off the dpf, and just putting it back on for inspections. My brother did this with his F250 and his mpg went from 12 to 19. I am already getting close to 19 so I am hoping for somthing in the 20's

I don't notice any performance loss or MPG loss running B100. It runs fantastic with B100.

Well, I've had the opposite experience. I get circa 15 with B99 and circa 16.5 with dino over 7,000 miles mixed city/highwy. I calculate by hand. The DIC is usually within 1 mpg of agreement.

I get about 13.5 mpg on B100 and 14.6 to 15 on dino, those are both mixed city/hwy.
