I have a 01 with 90,000 miles and the 2-3 shift is real lazy is the anything that can be done to firm it up through the computer. The truck is stock and has amsoil ATF in it

If there is nothing wrong with the trans the dealer can reset the adapts for that shift and it will relearn it. You should have it checked though before reseting the adapts.

Thanks GMCSID, anybody know of a good shop in oakland county michigan. I've yet to find a good dealer. It seems they don't want to do anything. I don't know if it's because of lack of knowledge on the allison or what but I don't want to take it to somebody that just wants to tear into it to make some cash.Maybe I'll give Eric a call over in grand rapids and see how much it's a 2+hour drive but it would be worth it for the piece of mind. Thanks

One thing I just learned is that my Allison didn't shift as firmly with the Amsoil Universal ATF as it does with Torque Drive. However, if the one shift is really that much different than the others, it may indicate another problem. How long has it been like that, has the fluid been changed recently? If it has been like that for a while, it seems that the trans should have firmed up the shift. It may be shifting it has hard as it can by now, indicating a problem with that clutch set.
