Me truck will be in March 11 and wondering if synthetic is the way to go.

That's entirely up to you. As for my opinion, I am going with it.

After break-in I will probably go to Mobil Synthethic.

now that these egr equipped engines are sooting up badly, i think i will just constantly change my oil around the 3k mark unless putting mileage on fast. for me, synthetic will be too costly to do this. the manual recommends dino, the engineers know a heck of alot more about this than i do...my 2 sense

Understand Marine Corps uses synthetic in the amtracks. Must be OK.

I personally use Rotella oil. Synthetic is great, but just make sure you let the engine and internals break in first before you switch to synthetic. Maybe wait until the first oil change or something, that should be enough time.

are oil chang intervals the same with synthetic,3 5 or 7500,???thats the question???

for instance-If I could go twice as long between oil changes with syn I might consider it,It is twice the price,but for regular oil I will change it at the same time as syn,what is the benefit????oil stands up to the rigors of my engine,Im satisfied,right?show me that using syns will prolong the life of my engine,and I will show you my bearings in 5 years-

I don't know about anyone else - but if I'm using syn I'm not changing every 3K unless I want to rent a room in the POOR HOUSE...

I'm running synthetic (rotella) and I'm on 7500 miles (whenever the DIC indicates ~10-15% oil life remaining) between changes.

My beast only gets the good stuff !:grd:
