I recently had a belt break in a front tire on my 99 Z-71 and it would wobble bad driving through the subdivision around 5-10mph and could really be felt at highway speeds. Not until I removed the tire from the truck while putting on tie-rods did I notice the dip and corresponding bulge in the tread where the belt was broke.

If nothing is loose rotate the tires front to back. That should tell you if it's a tire problem. I have had a few front tires with slightly cupped outer edges that cause vibrations.

thanks guys Ill try the tire rotation-honestly I thought It might be related to the steering shaft probs mentioned elswhere-That could also be the problem. It wouldn't hurt to lube the shaft because it most likely needs it. I did relube a steering shaft once that also fixed a slight vibration in the steernig wheel at freeway speeds.
