Has any one used the additive Ethos to their oil and diesel fuel and if so with what results? Their web site claims between 9% and 17%. It is stated that it is an oil based product and is non toxic.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but I am curious about this as well. I just had a dealer try to sell me on it for my wife's Lexus. He was saying it was even better for diesel. Thought I would look to the experts here for answers. Anybody looked into this product or tried it? Website claims it is basically Canola oil based??

I just finished a trial with it. MPG is essentially the same. I ran it for 1 month. I emailed them yesterday to get double my money back (their guarantee). I have not received a response.

from the FAQ:

"When added to fuel, Ethos FR reduces the emissions of hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), particulate matter (PM) and other harmful products of combustion."

sadly, the only emissions testing done on this product are opacity tests.. opacity tests only measure visible particulates..not Nox, not CO,not HC not the fine level particulates unseen by the naked eye.. they really should back up their claims if they want to be taken seriously.

if all you want is a fuel system cleaner, I s'pose this would work.. you could lube your garage door hinges with it too..

I added it to both my oil and fuel when I did my last oil change. I'll be having Amsoil test my oil before and after. I've gone through about 10 tanks of fuel and can't really say whether there's been a mpg improvement; unless you drive the same route, the same speed, the same air temp ... ??? I can say that I haven't thrown any codes (and neither has the truck) and the DPF regens seem to be happening when they're supposed to. Actually, what the bottle says is "It contains no petrochemicals, no metals, and burns 99% clean upon ignition and ashless upon combustion."

Well that being said, it's not a measurable difference and therefore not a 17% increase or whatever they claim. I tried a similar product, (infact I believe it to be the same product in a differnt bottle) with no real results and possibly slightly negative ( the cost of the product with no increase). This only confirms to me that it was the same product in a different bottle. Thanks for the info

Here a scam, there a scam, everywhere a scam scam....

It seems that every time the price of fuel goes up, the scammers are in bloom!

If you want 17% improvement in mpgs, slow down from 75 to 65 and complete all maintenance items.
