Unloaded you should be fine on any level. I run level 6 all the time with no problems.

From my understanding being rough on setting 3 (160) will start to hurt the trans. and the EGT's can definitely get high on this setting, I would think even more so with a stock exhaust. Maybe just keep it to 90 for now.

Ive been running the ppe standard on 225 for 20k miles. I beat the chit out of my truck and no problems yet. Never been limped yet either. Dynoed at 455hp with nothing but the programmer also.

ever any issues with the dealer? Or you just return to stock and no questions asked?

My local dealer says that here at his shop he won't say anything. He said that if you would have any major warranty issues to where gm would send out their inspector then he wouldn't have any say. The owner's son has an '06 with a edge juice w/attitude.

I have this exact same question, only I am not going to be changing the Exhaust since I need the quick warmups in the winter, and I also need to keep the truck real quiet due to where I live and work.

The only thing is though I regularly haul 2500-3000lbs in the box on the highway and mild off road. Im not looking to make huge power, just use the tow settings for MPG and better throttle respondce. I have done the PPE airbox mod and im doing the PCV reroute.

Not really a fan of gauges but I can get some if nessary sooner or later.

I have towed up to 9,000 lbs with my PPE on level 6, 350 HP with no problems. I was on level ground and egts stayed around 950*-1000*. A slight grade and the EGT's went up fast, so guages at that towing weight are a must. I tow 4000 lbs daily on the 350 setting and never have any problems with high EGT's, about 750*-800* average and 900*-1000* on a good incline. I think with only 3000 lbs you would be very safe on any level as long as your tranny will hold it.

I towed my 5er in my sig with stock exhaust with my PPE on level 3. EGTs got hot really quick (1100-1350) and I had to keep backing off the throttle to keep the EGTs down. I haven't towed yet with my new exhaust but will be headed to Colorado this weekend with my 5er. I'll post how it does as far as EGTs are concerned. Trans should be no problem as long as you are reasonable with your right foot.

I did a hard 20-80 roll-on this weekend and only hit 1150 with the PPE Std on 90hp.

Shifts feel firm, but nothing crazy. I just make sure I lift before the 4-5 shift. As for smoke it doesn't leave more than a slight haze, I actually like it makes it more of a sleeper. Suprised the hell out of a buddy last night with a SCT equipped 250.

Once you do you won't want to switch back to 90. I baby my truck normally, I'd say I floor it maybe couple times a week tops. Figure the 160 should be fine on miss Ally with my driving habits.

I've only run mine on the +90 so far, but I've only seen about 1,200 (not pulling anything).
