a friend i work with bought a diesel rig. the rig was full of fuel in both tanks. he siphoned the fuel out and put it in his 6.5 diesel and tractors. he said the fuel is bluish in color. he said since he put the fuel in his truck his mpg has gone up dramatically. has anybody heard of blue diesel fuel or his he full of sh@#?

Previous owner may have been adding 2-stroke oil to his fuel as an additive.

Was it out of a Volvo? Volvo's tend to turn the fuel a blueish black. The fuel gets pretty hot coming back into the tank since the fuel return does not have a cooler and passes right by the manifold. Almost all the Volvo's I've seen have fuel issues when they have some age/miles on them.

I add about a quart of 2 stroke oil per fill up. Everytime i change my fuel filter its a light blue color. I would be he has two stroke oil in the fuel.

Check around the cap for little foot prints. It sounds like a bad case of "smurf pee"
