I have been calling around for a 6" lift for my 08' 2500 and have been informed that the 3/4 ton NBS trucks have the same chassis as the older trucks and only the 1/2 ton trucks get the new GMT900 series chassis. What the sh!t... never knew this.

So you get a new interior and sheet metal.... wish I would have known that before. I mean I love the truck but this chassis is a little outdated I would think. When was the last time GM did a all new chassis for the 3/4 ton trucks?

Hey I don't know from adam- - but this website disputes what you're saying.

Now I'm more confused. Two different shops that are highly respected in So Cal told me the chassis's were the same and the 6" lifts from the OBS will bolt up to the NBS. The CST lift made a slight change to a shock mount I believe is what I was told, however it is not needed and the OBS lift will work too. I was then told the GMT900 chassis for the 2500's will be released between 2009 and 2010 sometime but its unsure right now.

Well again I have no real idea here... but it's possible the lift kit fits both NBS and OBS.
Is the lift kit for the NBS 1500 different?

probably, because if you do some looking around you'll see small references to a "C3XX" platform, maybe coming in 2011 or so, probably the same time the mid-cycle enhancment comes around for the GMT-900's
the -800 HD chassis works fine and doesnt really have many problems, so it was more realistic for GM to just reuse it and bolt a new body on.

I guess thats what matters. I just remember my 05' 1500 rattled like crazy and I heard how tight the new GMT900 was and rattle free. So far my LMM is rattle free and I hope it stays that way

thats because of the new body. The GMT-900 bodies are assembled and designed much tighter and are higher quality than the 800 bodies.

+1. Let's not let GM screw up the HD chassis. All they'd do is cut corners to save cost anyway.

Good point. I look at some of the things I liked on my 05' Silverado and 04' Yukon and wonder why GM changed it... such as my overhead console and then it becomes clear... save money.
